Lake Huron Pony Club

The year is off to a strong start with a January 2nd badge session, where members earned "I love my horse" and "parts of the saddle/bridle" badges.  We have been hosting a weekly Quiz Practice on Monday nights, and a Fundraising Committee has been organized.  Next Sunday is the first Education session where members aged 13 and over will participate in a lower limb dissection at the University of Guelph.  So much more to come!

The Lake Huron Pony Club has started off what looks to be a promising year for the club! Some of our members attened the "Nations Cup" jumping challenge hosted by Western Ontario Region at our very own REACH Centre in Clinton. It was a fun day for all!

Regional Quiz is fast approaching! On March 29th, many of our members will write the C Quiz in hopes of qualifying for National Quiz this year. We will also have one member wiritng the A/B level to qualify for Nationals.

This year we have had some changes in our reps. Please check the page specific to the discipline for the name and contact information of the representative.

What a busy year we've had so far within the club! Regional Quiz was a success, with many of our clubbers in the ribbons. Special mention to Katie Recoskie who will be representing Lake Huron and Western Ontario Region at the C Level at Nationals in BC in 2013, and also to Maris Garriock who will be competing at Nationals at the A/B Level. Way to go girls!

We are also preparing for PPG, Regional Show Jumping and Dressage. Testing for the summer is also underway - if you would like to test, please contact Helen. Regional Camp is fast approaching in July. Check the updated calendar for more details!

Happy New Year! We have now begun our winter education sessions. Please check out the Calendar page for more information. Our senior members now have a blog, which is under the Senior Education tab.

Remember to choose your badge to complete over the winter (if you wish to do so) and email your choice to Maris!

Our website has had some big changes... And it's almost finished! More photos have been added to the Photo Gallery page, with even more to come!

We will be having a Nutrition talk on December 6th at Martine & Maxine's place, so mark your calendars!

Also of note is the REACH centre's new schooling series. This isn't a Pony Club event, but it's a great opportunity to get out and practise with your ponies!

Congratulations to one of our members, Claire Fleming, who recently competed at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair with Jovalle (Herbie) in the Large Pony Hunters. Claire and Jovalle came 2nd overall (Reserve Champion) at this National competition!

This past weekend was our annual year end sleepover at the REACH Centre in Clinton. This weekend was also the annual meeting for our club, and the executive positions for the year were assigned. Membership forms were also given out. If you haven't already done so, please get your membership forms and OEF membership reciepts to Deb as soon as possible!
